PALMDALE – Although the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in the Monday night released described the child drowned in a Palmdale pool as an infant, the Tuesday update now lists the child as a 3-year-old toddler.
Through investigation, it was determined that the child fell into the pool and drowned while at a party in the 37700 block of 50th Street East.
Through investigation, the Homicide detectives learned that the boy was with his mother at the party when the group went to the front of the home to watch fireworks. The mother noticed her young son missing and went to look for him and found him in the pool.
She reached for her child, pulling him from the pool attempting to render aid. Emergency personnel responded and the child was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. The time the child was in the water when he was found is not known at this time.
