UPLAND, Calif. – A 25-year-old Montclair man was arrested for striking an ambulance and fleeing from the scene.
On the morning of April 13, 2019, officers with the Upland Police Department responded to the area of Euclid Avenue and Arrow Highway for the report of a hit and run driver that collided with an ambulance. The ambulance overturned, landing on its side.
While en route to the scene, officers saw a white Maxima drive away from the area at a high rate of speed, and they stopped the vehicle. The driver, Johnny Garzo, was subsequently arrested in the 1200 block of Sandra Court in the City of Upland and booked for DUI and hit and run with property damage. Garzo was cited and was released at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday.
There were no injuries as a result of the collision. Information will be updated when it is received.
