NASHVILLE, TN. – An 80-year-old Tennessee man was arrested for raping a 7-year-old girl who was left in his care, authorities said.
The arrest was made on Tuesday, July 23, 2019. The initial report was made on June 22, 2019, after detectives got a call reporting the alleged rape. Dionicio Hernandez was the roommate of the child and her father who all live in a Nashville apartment. Hernandez was trusted with the child for a short time while her father went to the store. The girl told her father, who reported the incident to authorities.
Detectives responded to the hospital where the girl was interviewed about the incident. He was charged with felony rape of a child. He was arrested and booked at the Hill Detention Center. He is being held in lieu of $300,000 bail.
