RIVERSIDE – A 24-year-old technology aid from Liberty Elementary School in the City of Riverside was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of multiple students. On Thursday, February 9, 2017, Riverside police began an investigation regarding the possible sexual assault of a student. The student said that the technology aid identified as Fernando Figueroa of Riverside touched her in a sexual manner.
School District officials placed Figueroa on administrative leave and restricted him from all campuses pending the investigative results. Through investigation detectives learned that other students also were allegedly victimized by Figueroa. A search warrant was served at Figueroa’s home in the 5000 block of La Sierra Avenue. Figueroa was subsequently booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for several counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child under the age of 10 years old.
“Fernando Figueroa had access to several children at Liberty Elementary and also with the Boys and Girls club after school program, and it is believed there may be additional victims,” Riverside Police officials said.
