VICTORVILLE – The family of an Adelanto mother and three children who lost their lives in a collision last week are asking for donations for funeral expenses and to help the surviving child during her recovery.
At around 8:11 p.m. the blue 1999 Toyota Corolla carrying a mother, identified as Mercedez Montee Breda and four children, Niemah Breda, 9, Omir Breda, 6, Pryson Breda, 2, and Missiya Breda, 11, sideswiped a silver 2006 Honda Accord in the westbound lanes of Air Expressway causing the Corolla to go into opposing lanes. When going into the eastbound lanes of traffic, the vehicle slammed head-on with a 2003 Ford Explorer sending the Toyota into a ditch. The Explorer overturned and the driver sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash.
Mercedez, Missiya, and Pryson were all pronounced dead at the scene of the collision. Six-year-old Omir was rushed to Victor Valley Global Medical Center where he also was pronounced deceased. Nine-year-old Niemah, was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center where she remains in critical condition.
Shari Palmer, the cousin of Mercedez has started a Go Fund Me account to assist in the burial and any other needs that may arise as a result of the loss of four lives and the hospitalization of the surviving 9-year-old girl. “Our family in GA are overwhelmed with losing our family members in such a tragic accident,” said Shari Palmer on the Go Fund Me page.
