DECATUR, Ga. – An armed burglary suspect was stopped in his tracks after the victim threw a pot of hot grease on him last Thursday.
The Decatur, Georgia Police responded to the 2800 block of Wimberley Drive SW, for the report of a burglary and domestic dispute. When they arrived they made contact with the male suspect, Larondrick Macklin. Macklin had major burns on his face and was transported to the hospital.
Through investigation, the detective learned that Macklin was the primary aggressor in the altercation. They also learned that he had entered the female victim’s home with a firearm, in fear for her life, she defended herself with the pot of hot grease. It is unclear how Macklin and the victim were related or if they were in a dating relationship.
Macklin received medical care and was transported to Morgan County Jail. On August 2, 2019, he was charged with first degree burglary and first degree domestic violence. Macklin is being held at the Morgan County Jail in lieu of $300,000 bond, per Judge Howell.
