The 2016 Niche Safest Cities in the United States list includes several Inland Empire cities, one of those a Victor Valley city.
This list includes a ranking of the top 100 cities based on statistical data collected from 208 qualifying cities. Of those 100 cities, five Inland Empire cities made the list but the same five also made the Law Offices of Graham Donath list of the 68 most dangerous cities in California.
To make scoring fair, the Niche list ranked all 208 cities based on a “per 100,000” scoring system including information collected from the FBI and the U.S. Census. The Inland Empire cities listed included by rank; Corona #13, Temecula #20, Ontario #50, Riverside #73 and Victorville at #99.
On the Law Offices of Graham Donath 100 most dangerous places to live list included the same five Inland Empire cities as well as several others, including the #1 ranked most dangerous California city, the City of San Bernardino. Of the cities making both lists, the most dangerous in order are Victorville at #9, Riverside at #15, Ontario at #43, Corona at #55, and Temecula at #56. These numbers only are based on cities with 100,000 or higher population and are based on FBI Crime Data.
The Niche lists higher ranking cities (less safe) would typically be those who were given a lower number on the most dangerous list (least safe). Also, the safest city list includes cities throughout the United States, when the list of the most dangerous only lists those with 100,000 or higher population in the State of California.
