ROBESON COUNTY, NC. – Deputies in North Carolina arrested a man traveling on the I-95 near northbound 6-mile marker for a traffic violation.
On Friday, June 28, 2019, at around 9:00 p.m. Robeson County Sheriff’s stopped a 2019 Nissan Rogue and located 98 grams of cocaine and 35 grams of methamphetamine inside the vehicle. Orlando Lopez, 43, of Palm Coast, Florida, is charged with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine, two counts of trafficking in cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver a schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a vehicle for a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Several comments made after Lopez’ mugshot was released led authorities to release a statement.
“Even though this individual has been charged for committing a crime, he is still someone’s child/family member,” Robeson County Sheriff’s officials said. “It is obvious that he has suffered some type of injury. Please refrain from making jokes/negative comments.
Lopez was booked at the Robeson County Detention Center and being held in lieu of $250,000 bond.
