FONTANA, Calif. – A 54-year-old Fontana man was arrested for the shooting of two men — one shot in the face and both shot in the abdomen.
The shooting was reported on Tuesday, January 22, 2019, at around 7:20 p.m. in the 114000 block of Lime Orchard Lane in the City of Fontana. Police responded to the report of a shooting and when they arrived they found a 39-year-old Fontana man suffering from gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. A second victim, a 42-year-old Fontana man also sustained a wound to his abdominal area and is also expected to survive.
Danilo Nivero was arrested at the scene. The investigation revealed that the victims were involved in a verbal altercation with Nivero about a mutual female acquaintance at a nearby home leading up to the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
Nivero was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Attempted Murder and is being held in lieu of $1 million bail. He is scheduled to appear at the Rancho Cucamonga Superior Court on January 24, 2019.
