FONTANA – A 39-year-old Fontana man was arrested for attempting to steal a vehicle on Wednesday.
At around 2:25 a.m. deputies from the Fontana station were dispatched to the 15000 block of Merrill Avenue for the report of a vehicle theft in progress. Deputies arrived minutes later to find Robert Frees sitting in the vehicle attempting to start it. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for Grand Theft Auto and Felony Vandalism. Frees was found to be on Post Release Community Supervision (PRCS) at the time of his arrest.
