FONTANA – Fontana Police responded to a report of shots fired near Walnut Village Parkway and Mango Avenue in the City of Fontana late Friday morning. When officers arrived they located a male victim with a gunshot wound to his leg. The victim was walking into a store when he was confronted with Gabriel Rios, 28, of Fontana.
Authorities said that Rios got out of his vehicle with a gun and shot several times at the victim. The victim ran, but was struck in the leg. Rios got back into his vehicle and fled the scene. Rios was located on Saturday in the City of Industry by LASD deputies and Fontana Police responded to place Rios under arrest for attempted murder. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
