FONTANA – A 51-year-old Fontana man was arrested after making threats of gun violence at an after-school kids program in the City of Riverside on Wednesday. Police responded to a call regarding the criminal threats on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. The report indicated that Fredrick Cotton was making threats toward the Kids Cafe program at the Salvation Army facility in the 3600 block of First Street in Riverside.
Authorities learned that Cotton entered the property and made threats toward the parents and the facility. Witnesses described Cotton as being upset about a relationship at the time. Cotton was identified but not located until Wednesday, February 21, 2018, in the City of Fontana. The METRO Team (SWAT) served the warrant on Cotton’s home in the 14000 block of Hillcrest in the City of Fontana. Cotton was safely detained and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center for Criminal Threats.
