FONTANA – A 30-year-old Fontana man was arrested after burglarizing a home and holding a woman hostage on Wednesday authorities said.
At around 12:30 a.m. deputies from the Fontana station responded to the report of a burglary in progress at a home in the 8800 block of Catawba Avenue in the City of Fontana. When deputies arrived the suspect, later identified as convicted felon Jesus Bueno of Fontana. Witnesses reported that Bueno fled on foot away from the residents running through nearby yards and jumping fences. Deputies conducted a yard-to-yard search with the assistance of Rancho Cucamonga and Rialto K9 units.
During the search, deputies heard a woman pleading for help from inside a home. Inside the home the deputies located Bueno and a unidentified woman who was being held against her will inside her home. Through investigation it was determined that Bueno forced his way into the victim’s residence and prevented her from leaving or alerting authorities of his presence. Bueno was learned to be parole for an unrelated terrorist threats conviction. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center for kidnapping, false imprisonment, and residential burglary.
