POMONA, Calif. – A 54-year-old former 2nd-grade teacher was sentenced to 5 years in prison for child molestation, Los Angeles County District Attorney’s officials said.
Jose Cruz Martinez, a former teacher at Rowland Elementary school located at 2036 Fullerton Road in the City of Rowland Heights was convicted of inappropriately touching five girls, ages 7 and 8-years-old while at the school campus.
The sexual abuse occurred between August 2014 and June 2015 and between August 2017 and April 2018, officials said. Martinez was convicted of four counts of Lewd Acts Upon a Child Under the age of 14 and one misdemeanor county of child molestation.
