Far too often, children in the United States do not receive the proper nutrition to grow and learn properly. This is why the USDA enacted the free and reduced-price lunch program. Still, while proper nutrition is within their reach during the school year, summer can prove to be difficult for low-income families.
The USDA Summer Meal program provides free meals to all of those 18-years-old and younger. There are numerous locations throughout the United States, including several in the Victor Valley area. Some of these locations serve lunch, while others serve both breakfast and lunch.
