VICTORVILLE – A UPS delivery truck driver overturned as the driver made the sharp left-hand turn from northbound Industrial Boulevard onto westbound Silica Drive, Friday morning.

The fully loaded UPS truck was loaded and prepared to make the daily deliveries when the 9:45 a.m. collision occurred. No other vehicles were involved and the driver sustained no injuries.

UPS officials said that the packages were offloaded, and checked for any apparent damage.
“The package car – familiar brown truck – is back at our facility with the volume loaded into another vehicle and back out for delivery with a cover driver, so all the deliveries will be completed this afternoon,” said UPS Spokeswoman Susan Rosenberg.

Packages found to have damage were not delivered and would be noted as an “exception” in tracking and the shipper would be notified. “If someone receives a package with contents damaged, they should notify the shipper who initiates the claims process and/or to trigger a replacement shipment,” Rosenberg added.

The collision caused some traffic backup due to the westbound lanes being blocked and eastbound traveling looky-loos.
