REDLANDS – A 10-year-old girl is recovering from injuries after a vehicle collided into the home where she was sleeping on Thursday morning.
Just before 7:00 a.m. the 20-year-old female driver was heading westbound on San Bernardino Avenue in her 1997 Mercury Mountaineer. She lost control and crashed into a home on Occidental. “The driver lost control and crashed into the home on Occidental, traveling through a bathroom and two bedrooms, including the bedroom where the 10-year-old was sleeping, before crashing through the back wall of the home, continuing through the back yard, through another fence, over a 6-foot retaining wall and into the master bedroom of a home in the 1600 block of Nathan Court where the vehicle came to rest,” Redlands Police officials said in a news release.
Police and Paramedics responded to the scene in the 1600 block of Occidental Street to find the g10-year-old girl suffering from multiple broken bones. Two other children and their mother were inside the home and although one other child suffered minor abrasions, no other injuries were reported.
