RIVERSIDE – A 28-year-old man was killed in a deadly attack after trying to assist another man who was being beaten outside of the Hideaway Cafe in the City of Riverside on Friday night.
Adam Valles, 28, was with his wife, sisters, and his sister’s boyfriends waiting for a Uber that they called for after a night out at the Cafe in the 3700 block of Main Street. “We saw a man getting jumped by four men and my husband calmly broke up the fight,” said Valles’ wife Johana. “After he did that he went to help the man on the floor. That’s when someone tackled him to the ground and he hit his head, once he got up someone else punched him which caused him to fall and hit his head again. That was the last time he got up.”
Valles was rushed to a local trauma center with a brain bleed, brain swelling, and a fractured skull. Although at some points he gained stability, on the afternoon of Thursday, August 17th Valles lost his life. Valles leaves behind his wife, a daughter, 8, and son, 4. A Go Fund Me account has been set up to assist with his funeral expenses and any other expenses his young family who may now incur as a result of his tragic death.
No suspects are in custody, police are reviewing surveillance footage and witness cell phone video in order to assist in the ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information regarding the attack is urged to contact the Riverside Police Department at 951-354-2007.
