HALLORAN SPRINGS, Calif. – A member of the Mojave Desert Explorers, a Facebook group shared concern about recent shooting deaths of wild burros and horses.
The group member by the name of Johnny Ringo, who according to his Facebook says he works for the Mojave National Preserve shared his concern with the group on Wednesday. In addition to the informative post, he provided four photos of the deceased animals. Ringo said that the deceased wild burros and horses were located in Halloran Springs, which is north of Baker and they were believed to have been shot. Over ten reportedly have been shot and have died in around a month, Ringo said.
He said that the discovery has been reported to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, Bureau of Land Management(BLM), and National Park Service (NPS).
