TORRANCE, Calif. – Three have been arrested as a result of a flat tire ruse authorities said.
Omar Baltazar, 39, Monica Diaz-Sanchez, 39, and Sandra Baltazar-Diaz, 18, all of Hawthorne, were arrested following an investigation into two separate reports of suspects following victims to the bank, flattening their tires, and stealing the money from their vehicle while they are distracted by the flat tire. Torrance Police Investigators conducted surveillance and collaborated with the Glendale Police as well as additional agencies in order to identify the suspects.
On Monday, February 25, 2019, three suspects were arrested. In addition to the arrest, over $80,000 in suspected stolen money was located. Police think these three are responsible for thefts in Southern California and possibly other states.
