HEMET, Calif. – A Hemet man who was out of jail on Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS) as a result of California’s AB 109, was arrested for drug-related offenses on Wednesday.
On February 20, 2019, at around 9:25 p.m., while patrolling the 400 block of N. Palm Avenue, Hemet Police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The officer made contact with the three occupants of the vehicle. When conducting a record check, the officer learned that Joseph Navas, 52, was on PRCS.
A search of the vehicle revealed several baggies which contained ½ pound of methamphetamine and 50 grams of street-level heroin. Navas was arrested for drug-related offenses and PRCS violations. He was booked into jail.
