HEMET, Ca. – A DUI driver lost his life following a collision in the City of Hemet on Friday night.
Authorities said that at around 9:06 p.m. they received a report of a vehicle pursuit that was entering the City of Hemet. Hemet Police responded to Sanderson and Esplanade Avenue to assist deputies with the pursuit of a Hyundai Sonata that was traveling south on Sanderson Avenue toward Esplanade Avenue.
The 27-year-old male driver, from Hemet was wanted for driving under the influence and felony evading. GMC pickup truck that was driving west on Esplanade Avenue. Three people, including the suspected DUI driver were injured as a result of the collision and were transported to a trauma center. The suspected DUI driver, who caused the collision lost his life as a result of the crash. The other two people remain in stable condition. The name of the deceased man has not yet been released to the public.
The other two parties are listed in stable condition. The name of the deceased man is not being released pending notification of his family. Sanderson Avenue was closed to southbound traffic for approximately four hours while the investigation was completed.
