HEMET, Calif. – One suspect has been arrested and a second remains at large, following commercial burglaries in the City of Hemet.
Police officials said that the early-morning hour burglaries occurred on Thursday May 30, 2019 on the east and west sides of town. Both burglaries took place within minutes of each other. Officers reviewed surveillance footage which captured the burglary in progress including the suspect vehicle. Evidence left at the other locations linked the same suspects to the crimes there.
Shortly after 4:00 a.m. a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle description was located near Elk Street and Acacia Avenue. The suspects fled on foot in different directions. K-9 ‘Duke’ was brought to search for the suspects and quickly located one of the suspects. The suspect was arrested and the vehicle was learned to be reported stolen prior to the burglaries. The stolen vehicle was processed for evidence.
Police officials said that Investigators have developed some good leads on the second suspect and are confident he will be in custody soon.
