HESPERIA – The City of Hesperia on Wednesday announced the opening of their new QR Fit Trail at the Hesperia Civic Park located at Hesperia Civic Plaza Park is located at 15833 Smoke Tree Street. The trail is part of the Fitness in the Park program, which is part of the Healthy Hesperia initiative. This initiative is designed to provide healthy lifestyles in the community through the use of parks.
The QR Fit Trail will have it’s grand opening on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. The trail integrates nature and technology to support personal fitness. Using your smartphone users can access workouts throughout the trail using the six QR code signs provided. These QR codes will help the person access short workout routines that the city officials said to target the body core, both the lower and upper body and improving flexibility.
Each of the six stations takes around 5 minutes to complete. If the user completes all six workouts, they will have had a 30-minute full body workout. Funding was provided by St. Joseph Health, St. Mary through a grant specified for installation of outdoor exercise stations.
City of Hesperia officials said that this QR Fit Trail will be the first of it’s kind in the Inland Empire. The City of Hesperia encourages the community to join them for the grand opening. The City of Hesperia in order to bring the Healthy Hesperia program to the community works with the Hesperia Recreation and Park District, Hesperia Unified School District and County of San Bernardino.
