HESPERIA, Calif. – A Hesperia man was arrested for an active felony warrant for spousal abuse and kidnapping on Monday.
The day before, on Sunday, August 4, 2019, Robert Frank Torres, 43, got into an argument with his wife over infidelity at their home in the 10200 block of Oakwood Avenue. During the argument, the victim attempted to leave their bedroom, but Torres grabbed her by her arms and threw her on the bed. Torres then punched her five times on her head and put his hands on her chest, placing pressure, so she could not breathe. Torres stepped away from the victim and went to the door to block it so that no one could come in, and so that the victim did not leave. Torrest fled the location when he learned that 911 had been called.
“The victim suffered several bruises to the bottom portion of her biceps on each arm, bruising to her knees and shin, a small bruise above her right eyebrow, and a cut on the inner portion of her lip,” said Hesperia Sheriff Station Spokesman, Edgar Moran. “She also had a complaint of pain to her head.”
Torres was contacted on August 5th. He was arrested and booked at High Desert Detention Center for kidnapping and spousal abuse.
