HESPERIA – A Hesperia man is behind bars following multiple vehicle burglaries between late October and late November authorities said.
The first incident was reported on Monday, October 23, 2017, at around 11:12 p.m. The victim had parked their vehicle at the Deep Creek Spillway entrance. When they returned to the vehicle, they found that the vehicle was broken into. Burglaries were also reported on October 30, 2017, November 21, 2017, and November 29, 2017.
Victor Valley Station Detective Robbi DeBois was assigned to the case and was able to develop leads leading to a home in the 18000 block of Sycamore Street in the City of Hesperia. DeBois was able to obtain a search warrant and the warrant was served.
During the search property belonging to the victims of the burglaries were located in the home. Joshua Allen Lay was arrested for the burglaries and booked at High Desert Detention Center. Lay later posted bail and was released.
