HESPERIA – A 42-year-old Hesperia man was arrested for Arson after leaving a burning mattress on the curb of his home. On Friday.
On Friday, June 8, 2018, at around 11:00 p.m. Damon Gant, was moving from his home in the 15600 block of Sequoia Street. While moving, he removed a mattress from the home and placed it on the curb. A witness called to report that as he was walking away from the mattress, they noticed that the mattress had been set on fire. Deputies arrived at the home, where the mattress was fully engulfed.
Gant was arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for Arson of Property. Gant is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail and he is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior Court on Tuesday afternoon.
