VICTORVILLE – A 40-year-old Hesperia man was arrested on Monday for shooting after employees at the Star Market in the City of Victorville.
On August 1, 2017, at around 6:45 p.m. Abraham Munoz allegedly went into the store located in the 14700 block of 7th Street and requested to purchase a single cigarette.
The store clerk told him that they did not sell single cigarettes. Angered by the inability to purchase a single cigarette, Munoz brandished a firearm. The store employee retrieved his firearm and pointed it toward the suspect, who then turned and left the store. As he left the store, he fired toward the employees. Neither of the employees were hit and the suspect left the scene in his vehicle before deputies arrived. Additional information was received about the suspect and the vehicle that he was driving.
On Monday deputies conducted a traffic stop of a 2002 BMW, for an inoperable tail light in the area of Amargosa and La Mesa Roads. Deputies realized that the driver and the vehicle matched the description of the suspect vehicle. Munoz was detained and transported to the Victorville Police Department where he was interviewed and subsequently arrested. He was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for attempted murder and for driving without a license. He is being held in lieu of $1 million bail.. He is scheduled to appear at the Victorville Superior court on Wednesday afternoon.
