HESPERIA – Two Hesperia residents were arrested on Tuesday for the fraudulent use of credit cards. On Tuesday afternoon the Sheriff’s Service Specialists Chambers responded to the call reporting the fraudulent use of a credit card. The female victim reported that she used her card at a restaurant in the 16800 block of Main Street in the City of Hesperia and her card was not returned.
Numerous charges were made to the victim’s card that she did not make. Deputies made contact with 26-year-old Kenyon Butler at the restaurant regarding the fraudulent charges. Deputies continued the investigation of the home of Butler and his wife, 29-year-old Erica Haskins. Over $800 in fraudulently purchased electronics, toys, clothing, and beauty supplies were found during the search.
Both Butler and Haskins were arrested and booked into the High Desert Detention Center for fraud with a credit card and conspiracy to commit a crime. Butler and Haskins were both released on bail and have no court appearances scheduled at this time, per inmate records.
