VICTORVILLE – High Desert Homeless Services (HDHS) serves 55 men, women, and children providing the shelter, resources, training, and support needed to help clients successfully gain and maintain permanent housing. The shelter offers a 30-90 program where all of the client’s needs are provided.
Keeping the shelter running is costly, and although HDHS does receive some funding and donations, it only covers a portion of the operating expenses. The shelter needs the support of the community through donations and supporting the fundraisers. By supporting the fundraising events, the person/people who do become part of the solution to homelessness in the County of San Bernardino shelter officials said.

On Saturday, February 11, 2017, there will be an all-you-can-eat breakfast fundraiser at Applebee’s located at 12044 Amargosa Road in the City of Victorville. Tickets are available at the shelter located at 14049 Amargosa Road in the City of Victorville for $10 or online for $10 plus s&h. Tickets will include the all-you-can-eat meal plus your chance to win a Valentine’s Day photo session by Saoirse photography.
The highly anticipated Casino Night will also be coming on March 24, 2017, from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. The shelter fundraising coordinator, James Wilson said that he is looking for business or private sponsors. The shelter can always use volunteers, those wishing to volunteer can go to the High Desert Homeless Services office located at 14049 Amargosa Road in the City of Victorville between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. and speak to Shelly the Shelter Supervisor.
