APPLE VALLEY – Homicide detectives are investigating a murder/suicide in the Town of Apple Valley officials said.
On Sunday, June 3, 2018, at around 10:40 p.m. deputies from the Apple Valley station responded to the 19600 block of Tonkawan Road in response to the report of a shooting. When they arrived they found Mary Donley, 49, and Brian O’Connell, 48, both residents of Apple Valley suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Donley was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. O’Connell was pronounced dead at the location. O’Connell has been named by authorities as the suspect, who shot Donley, then shot himself resulting in their deaths.
Homicide investigators responded to the location to assume the investigation. The motive of the shooting is unknown at this time, but no suspects are outstanding.
