ADELANTO, Ca. – The death of a 66-year-old man is under investigation after he died at the hospital on Friday night.

Victor Valley deputies responded to the 17900 block of Jonathan in the City of Adelanto on Friday, October 23, 2020, at around 4:55 p.m. The reporting party said that Robert Aitchison had fallen and struck his head leaving him unconscious. Emergency medical personnel arrived at the scene and transported him to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center (ARMC). At 8:04 p.m., Colton Police called Sheriff’s dispatch and reported that ARMC staff told them that Aitchison had a gunshot wound and was pronounced deceased at 7:10 p.m.

Homicide detectives responded to the home on Jonathan in the City of Adelanto in order to conduct an investigation. Sheriff’s officials said that they will be conducting an autopsy in order to determine the cause and manner of death.
