HESPERIA, Calif. – The San Bernardino County Coroner has identified the woman killed in a vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Saturday.
At around 3:17 a.m. Fabiola Maria Sanchez, 46, of Hesperia was walking in the 15000 block of Bear Valley Road, around 3 miles from her home, when she was struck by a vehicle. Hesperia Deputies and San Bernardino County Fire arrived at the scene on Bear Valley Road near Eleventh Avenue to find Fabiola unresponsive. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. Through investigation, it was learned that Fabiola was crossing the street outside of the crosswalk when she was struck by the 2003 black Chevrolet Avalanche. Alcohol or drugs do not appear to be a factor in the collision.
