FAIRFIELD, Calif. – A California mother and father of ten children, ages 4-months old to 12-years old, are facing multiple criminal charges for the abuse of their children.
Jonathan Allen, 30, and Ina Rogers, 30, both Solano County residents, are accused of physical abuse, sexual abuse, and neglect of the ten kids. Most of the crimes were done at the hands of Allen, but Rogers allegedly allowed the abuse to go on without reporting it to protect their children.
The details emerged during the December 2018, preliminary hearing. Details of torturous abuse of the ten children included burning, choking, and food deprivation. According to court records, Allen also shot some of the children with a crossbow and sexually molested at least some of the children.
The children had physical evidence of the abuse including scars, cuts, and evidence of choking, malnutrition, biting, waterboarding, and burning the children’s feet with boiling-hot water.
The abuse was ongoing, some dating back to 2014, but authorities did not become aware of the abuse until their 12-year-old son who had developmental delays went missing in March 2018. Police arrived to take a report and found the 9 other children in the filthy home. Inside the home there was garbage, feces; both animal and human, spoiled food, and other debris.
The boy was later found sleeping under a bush in the area. The couple pleaded not guilty to all charges, and a jury trial has been set for early next year.
If guilty of all charges, Allen faces 50 years to life in prison. Rogers, if found guilty of all charges, faces 10 years in prison. The two will return to the Solano County Courtroom in February 3, 2020 for a jury trial.
