KENT, Wa. – A Kent, Washington man was found dead after being carjacked authorities said.
Cynthia Sperling reached out on social media on Tuesday morning asking for people to look out for her husband Jered Sperling and his 2013 GMC Denali.
On Monday, April 17, 2019, just after 8:00 p.m. Cynthia received a call. The caller told her that while Jered was at the East Hill Storage, located at 10625 SE 240th Street, he got out of his truck to punch in the code at the facility. The suspect jumped into the driver’s seat of the truck and drove away. As they drove away, Jered jumped into the back of the truck attempting to stop the theft.
After a long night of waiting, the body of 38-year-old Jered, was found. His body that sustained at least one gunshot wound was located near a Kent apartment complex authorities said. His truck was also located. The suspect has not yet been identified, but authorities are reviewing surveillance and seeking any information from the public.
