EL MONTE – A 51-year-old Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighter was charged on Friday for downloading child pornography while at work.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s officials said that Matthew David Winters allegedly downloaded the pornography to a computer at the El Monte Fire Station from December 2017 to May 2018. Winters also allegedly attempted to conceal evidence by destroying the computer hard drive. Winters faces charges including one felony count of Possession of Child Pornography and one misdemeanor county of destroying or concealing evidence. If convicted, he can face up to 5 ½ years in prison.
