YUCCA VALLEY, Calif. – A 31-year-old Landers man was arrested only a day after being released from prison authorities said.
On Friday, March 15, 2019, at 4:30 a.m. Deputies from the Morongo Basin Station responded to the 1600 block of South Wamego Trail in Yucca Valley for the report of an assault. Through investigation, deputies determined that Jonathan Perry, 31, of Landers, entered Joshua King’s Yucca Valley home while he was asleep. Perry struck King in the head and body several times with an unknown blunt object causing serious injuries.
Perry then left the location on a quad. King was transported to the Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment. Perry was later located at a home in the 300 block of Fortuna Avenue in Landers. Perry was previously incarcerated for unlawful discharge of a firearm. He was arrested and booked at the Morongo Basin jail for attempted murder and a parole violation. He is being held without bail.
