APPLE VALLEY – As summer vacation begins parents stress out while looking low and no-cost activities for their children while their children simply celebrate the fact that school is temporarily out. The Town of Apple Valley has a way to keep juveniles active throughout the summer with fun and free activities.
The Town of Apple Valley’s mobile recreation van will be at Mendel Park from 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. and at Yucca Loma Park from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. every Tuesday in both June and July (except for Independence Day). The staff is set up to engage everyone in organized games and activities and will even provide a healthy snack.
“VanTastic is offered through Healthy Apple Valley, a coalition of public and private entities aimed at improving the health and well-being of residents through the promotion of healthy eating, education, cookie programs and physical activity,” Town officials said in the news release.
The program is free and open to the whole family. Mendel Park is located at 21860 Tussing Ranch Road. Yucca Loma Park is located at 21351 Yucca Loma Road. For more information on VanTastic, Healthy Apple Valley or other recreation activities, call (760) 240-7880 or visit www.AVRecreation.org.
