TORRANCE – A Los Angeles police officer who is a Riverside resident has been charged with the sexual assault of his friend’s 13-year-old daughter officials said.
Kenneth Collard, 51, was visiting friends at their Torrance home on April 4, 2018, and was invited to stay the night. Collard allegedly entered the victim’s bedroom as her parents slept and sexually assaulted her. The child told her parents about the incident and it was immediately reported to the police. Collard is facing up to 32 years in prison if he is convicted for the three counts of lewd acts upon a child and one count of sexual penetration by a foreign object that he is charged with. Prosecutors are recommending a $400,000 bail.
