CORONA – A 27-year-old Corona man, who was on Post-release community supervision (PRCS) for a prior assault with a deadly weapon was arrested on Sunday.
At approximately at 12:50 p.m. police received multiple reports of a male subject swinging a foot-long machete at trees and verbally threatening to kill people near Kellogg Avenue and Kingfisher Court. An on-duty Watch Commander immediately reviewed footage from a surveillance camera located at Santana Park. A subject with a matching description near the park snack bar and restroom area was seen on the surveillance footage. The subject could be seen concealing the machete in his clothing and walking toward the restrooms.
He left the restroom area shortly after and walked through the park where officers made contact with him. The suspect, identified as Elijahwaa Williams was detained near the intersection of Magnolia and Ontario Avenues without incident. The machete was located in the restroom, where Williams had left it prior to the police contact. He was arrested for possessing a concealed weapon (dirk or dagger) and revocation of Post-Release Community Supervision (PRCS).
