HESPERIA – Deputies from the Hesperia Station and emergency medical personnel rushed to the scene of an early-morning hit-and-run vehicle versus pedestrian collision on Saturday morning.
The report was made at around 3:13 a.m. stating that the pedestrian was down and the driver fled the scene on Main Street, just east of Topaz Avenue. Just before the call, at around 3:10 a.m. a report was made reporting that a male subject was “playing” in the roadway near Main Street and Maple Avenue, it is unclear if at this time if the two incidents were related.
When they arrived they found the lifeless body of a man in the roadway in the eastbound lanes of traffic. The man was pronounced deceased at around 3:25 a.m. Main Street was closed in both directions from Pyrite and Topaz Avenues for several hours. Witnesses were unable to provide the vehicle description, but the vehicle is expected to have major front-end damage.
