VICTORVILLE, Ca. – On Sunday, August 23, 2020, at around 8:40 p.m., deputies and emergency personnel in the City of Victorville rushed to the 11900 block of Amargosa Road for the report of a quad recklessly driving in the parking lot.
While en route to the parking lot near Johnny Carino’s Restaurant, additional calls were received reporting that the driver had crashed and was seriously injured as a result. “Witnesses reported the quad had been driving through the parking lot at high speeds and collided with a motorcycle. The impact with the motorcycle was minimal but caused the quad driver to lose control and hit the passenger side or a van parked at Johnny Carrino’s.,” said Victorville Station spokeswoman Mara Rodriguez. The impact or the quad into the van caused the airbags in the van to deploy.
The man was thrown from his quad and suffered from extensive injuries, including a serious injury to his head. The man was airlifted to a trauma center for treatment and is reportedly in stable condition. No other injuries were reported as a result of the collision.
