APPLE VALLEY – A 30-year-old homeless man was arrested after being located inside a stolen vehicle stopped within a Del Taco drive-thru on Monday authorities said.
At around 11:45 p.m. a deputy who was patrolling the area came across a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado, which was stopped in the drive-thru located in the 12200 block of Apple Valley Road near Pimlico Road. The deputy ran the license plate and found that the vehicle was reported to be stolen from Boron. The vehicle was stopped and made contact with the driver, Jeremy Byrd. The deputy also learned that Byrd had an active warrant for driving on a suspended license.
Byrd was booked into the High Desert Detention Center for the possession of a stolen vehicle and for the outstanding warrant. He is being held in lieu of $55,000 bail.
