A 40-year-old man was arrested for child pornography after he left his cell phone in a Uber driver’s car last week.
Salvador Sarellano ordered an Uber ride last week and accidentally left his phone in the vehicle. When the Uber driver located his phone, she attempted to locate the owner of the phone by accessing the content of the phone. While searching, she located a large amount of suspected child pornography. After making the discovery, she contacted authorities leading to an investigation.
The case was assumed by Fontana Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force. The investigation revealed over 4000 images and videos containing child pornography. Sarellano was identified as the owner of the phone. He was located in the 3900 block of E. Mission Boulevard in the City of Pomona where he was arrested for Possession of Child Pornography. He was booked into the West Valley Detention Center.
