WILDOMAR – A man was arrested following a brief pursuit in a patrol vehicle he stole on Saturday. At around 2:40 a.m., a deputy who was accompanying an arrestee in need of medical treatment realized his patrol vehicle was missing. Immediately, he called to report the incident that occurred at the Inland Valley Medical Center near the 36400 block of Inland Valley Drive in Wildomar.
The deputy reported that he left his locked vehicle in the parking lot and when he returned the vehicle was gone. The patrol unit was quickly located and after a brief pursuit, Alvin Smith was taken into custody. There were no injuries reported as a result of the incident. The investigation is ongoing and no further information is available for release.
