Man Found Deceased in Vehicle in Temecula

TEMECULA, Ca. – A Temecula man was arrested after vandalizing a Temecula elementary school campus, authorities said.

On Friday, August 27, 2021, deputies from the Southwest Sheriff’s Station responded to Rancho Elementary School located at 31350 La Serena Way in the City of Temecula for the report of a man with a large pipe attempting to break into the school. For the safety of the children and staff, the scholl was placed on lockdown. When the deputies arrived they located the suspect, 31-year-old Raymond Amick and took him into custody.

Through further investigation, it was determined that Amick had broken several windows at the school and damaged a car in the school parking lot. Amick sustained injuries while breaking the glass and was treated by emergency medical personnel for those injuries. No other injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Amick was arrested for vandalism, burglary, loitering, disturbing the peace and committing these crimes with prior felony convictions. He was booked at the Cois Byrd Detention Center.

The Southwest Sheriff’s Station, in conjunction with our educational partners, is dedicated to providing safe learning environments for our community. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact School Resource Deputy Joel Ramos at 951-696-3000.
