HESPERIA, Calif. – A Hesperia man and teen were arrested for the assault of a male subject who confronted them as they applied graffiti to an electrical box.
On Saturday, February 23, 2019, at around 2:36 p.m., deputies from the Hesperia station were dispatched to the report of a man being attacked by two subjects in the 10600 block of Westway Road. The attack occurred after the victim drove through an area and witnessed the two male suspects applying the graffiti and told them to leave the area. “A physical altercation then occurred and the victim was hit multiple times by the suspects in the face and body,” said Hesperia Sheriff’s Spokesman Edgar Moran. “The victim sustained a large baseball-sized hematoma to the left side of his forehead.”
Deputies were able to locate both suspects who were positively identified by the victim. One was a 17-year-old male who was arrested and booked at the High Desert Juvenile Detention Center for assault. Anthony Joseph Padilla, 19, was arrested and booked at the High Desert Detention Center for Battery Causing Serious Bodily Injury. Padilla is being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
