SONORA, Calif. – A naked burglar was arrested in the City of Sonora in Tuolumne County, California on Thursday.
In the afternoon on April 25, 2019, authorities received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the driveway of a home in the 19000 block of Phoenix Lane. Deputies responded to the home and located the Toyota 4runner that was left in the driveway while the homeowner left home for a while. The vehicle was not occupied but deputies did find a pair of sandals outside of the vehicle. The sandals soles matched a print left on a couch inside the home.
Down the street, deputies responded to a call reporting a nude man on their property. When deputies arrived, they found Eluterio Galvan, 37, wearing nothing but a pair of rubber boots he had stolen from the home. Items from the burglarized homes were found nearby and returned to the victims.
Authorities said that Galvan admitted to owning the sandals and also admitted to using methamphetamine. Galvan was transported to Adventist Health Sonora by ambulance for medical clearance and was subsequently booked at the Tuolumne County Jail for burglary.
