POMONA – A 24-year-old man was charged with breaking into his 82-year-old grandfather’s Pomona home and beating him severely. Sammeon Christian Waller was charged with two felony counts of elder abuse and first-degree burglary, person present.
On Friday, June 9, 2017, police were called to conduct a welfare check on the elderly Pomona man who had not been seen for several days. Police found the elderly man with significant bodily injuries and called for medical aid to take him to the hospital.
The victim’s grandson, Sammeon Christian Waller was named as a possible suspect in the attack and was located in Sacramento on Sunday, June 18, 2017, and was taken into custody. Waller will face up to 12 years in prison if convicted as charged. Waller is scheduled for arraignment at the Pomona Superior Court. Prosecutors are asking for bail to be set at $155,000.
