CORONA – A 34-year-old Montebello man lost his life as a result of being hit by a car on Sunday. At approximately 1:54 a.m. the Corona Police responded to the 1400 block of West Sixth Street for the report of a pedestrian struck by a car.
When emergency personnel arrived they located the lifeless body of Hugo Guzman lying in the intersection of Sixth and Smith Streets. Also located was a gray Toyota Corolla that was driven by 36-year-old Buena Park resident, Timothy Herrera.
Corona Police officials said that the Toyota was heading westbound on West Sixth Street and struck Guzman in the Smith Street intersection. No arrests have been made, and it is unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor in the collision.
